What's the difference between stump grinding and stump removal?
Grinding chews the stump down below ground level and leaves the roots to decay naturally — it's faster and less disruptive. Full removal pulls the root ball out, leaving a large hole. Grinding is the right choice for most yards.
How deep do you grind?
Typically several inches below grade — enough to replant grass or sod over it. We can go deeper if you plan to plant a new tree in the same spot.
Will the roots keep growing?
No. Once the tree is removed and the stump is ground, the remaining roots simply decay over time.
Can you fit through my gate?
Share the gate width and photos of the access route when requesting an estimate so we can discuss equipment access.
What do you do with the wood chips?
Discuss whether to leave the grindings, use them for backfill or arrange haul-off. Include your preference when requesting an estimate.
